If you have a barnes reloding manual and could tell me the loads listed for the 450 grain X bullet in .458 diameter. I doubt they have the Lott listed but even for the 458 win mag I can then extrapolate the Lott starting point for the powders listed. TIA

JJHACK, I have the Barnes #2 manual and they do have the 458 Lott listed.

POWDER GRAINS VEL MAX LOAD VEL
H335 75.0 2225 80.0 2373
H4895 76.0 2302 81.0 2453
IMR4064 75.0 2203 80.0 2350
IMR4320 78.0 2270 83.0 2416
RL12 77.0 2253 82.0 2399

Barnes has a newer manual out now, but I'm sure these loads still shoot. Hope this helps. Good Shootin!

Thanks guys, it's exactly what In needed. As you know the X bullets require different max loads then jacketed bullets do. I will give some of these loads a try.

By the way, your posts are a few minutes apart, good timing!

Nick, by all means send it to me. I'm doing final developement for my season in Afrcia and will likely bring several different loads to test. The 450's have the greatest interest for me now.jj
