Just picked up an older XCR in this chambering and was wondering if anyone else loads for it?

I have an XCR II in 375 Weatherby, nice gun. Sorry can't help you with load data, cartridges are very different. When you get a chance put it on a scale, mine's pretty light but the stock seems to soak up recoil. Congrats! I have used the 375 RUM a good bit. I only shoot 300grain bullets in it..I have learned not to push them super fast, but found the slight increase in velocity over the H&H useful. I am using northfork bonded bullets in it now..4831 works good so does vith---N 165. Ed DRSS Member

I have one of the early Remington M700 LSS rifles (26" barrel) in .375 RUM that was so accurate with factory ammo that it is a keeper. I pulled the bullets on the factory 300-grain Swift load and found 93.0 grains of a powder that looked, smelled, and tasted like IMR-7828. I would recommend that as a good load to work up to in the .375 RUM. The factory 300-grain Swift averaged 2803 fps in the 26" barrel and put 3 shots into less than 0.6" at 100 yards, with the out-of-box, factory rifle. The cartridge is so much like Saeed's .375/404 Jeffery (maybe 1 grain more water capacity for the .375 RUM with R-P brass versus Saeed's Norma brass) that you can go to the reloading pages here and use his data for the .375/404 Jeffery, with usual work-up precautions. Saeed likes H4350. I used that powder in the factory .375 RUM (26" barrel) with GSC bullets: 300-grain GSC FN, 3.545" COAL, GM215M (Federal) primer, R-P brass, 76 degrees F ambient temp.: 90.0 grains H4350 >>> 2705 fps 270-grain GSC FN, 3.545" COAL, GM215M, R-P brass, 76 F: 95.0 grains H4350 >>> 2921 fps Both H4350 handloads were very accurate. Your mileage may vary, powder lots vary. I used to shoot deer from a tree stand with the .375 RUM. It puts them down right where they stand. Small hole in, big hole out.

I've had my .375 RUM for about 10 years now. It too is a Rem 700 LSS with a 26" barrel. When I first shot it, it was the hardest kicking rifle that I had ever shot. I then restocked it with a Richards Laminate stock, had a KDF brake put on it and put a mechanical recoil reducer in the stock. On my last trip to Africa, I shot several animals with it from prone positions and had no recoil issues. I've taken it to Africa twice, the first time with 300 gr TSX handloads and the second time with 270 gr TSX handloads. My 300 gr TSX loads are over 97.2 gr of H 4831sc and CCI 250 primers for 2830 fps, and My 270 gr TSX loads are over 95.5 gr of IMR 4350 and CCI 250 primers for 3043 fps. I've shot 3 shot moa groups with both of them out to 200 yds. NRA Endowment Life Member

I have a 375 RUM built off a Montana Rifle Company action. Accuracy potential of this cartridge is fantastic. I shoot 300 gr. TSX at an average of 2794 using H4350. Work with your seating depth for best accuracy. I seat the bullets a little long and get great accuracy with this setup. Barnes has good reloading data online for their TSX and Banded Solid bullets.

My HS Precision likes 92gr H4350 under a 300gr TSX. 2850fps, accurate.
