My Heym Safari Express Magnum .416 Rigby - Pic
One or two have asked for a picture of my My Heym Safari Express Magnum .416 Rigby. I only have one and that's taken with flash, hence the glare, but here it is :-

Weighs about 9 3/4 Lbs and shoots superbly. 3 leaf express sights with spare firing pin and front site concealed in steel covered grip-cap. Front sight is height adjustable by loosening allen key and screwing sight in out out. Best of all it'll hold 5 x .416 Rigby rounds

500grainsHeym does a nice job with their rifles.
A few other things I didn't mention. It has a 3-position safety which is quite stiff. Maybe it'll become a little smoother in time. The finish on the metalwork is a low-lustre blue which is very appealing to the eye. Oh, this was a birthday present from my wife

Ken ClineIs this a relatively recent gun? Reason I'm asking is because I had an older one and the wood was very plain and boring. Yours is great!
Ken, I've had the gun just a few weeks and I'm sure it was made in the last year.

458RugerNo1A truly beautiful big game rifle in an all-time classic caliber. It looks "masculine" to say the least. Simplicity and beauty combined!
Enjoy... and may it be a "magic wand of death" on every creature you lay it's sights upon...
Spie,
Beautiful rifle!
One question........when you say it holds 5 416 Rigby rounds is that 4 down 1 in the chamber or 5 down 1 in the chamber?
Thanks,
Dave

The way the manual reads it's 5 + 1, but I've not tried it and I'm away until the end of next week. I'll let you know.

470 MbogoHi Spie,
That is one nice looking rifle!!! I hope you line up some nice hunts with that beauty.
Take care,
Dave
Gentelmen, those are 3 fantastic looking rifles for sure!
I think I have opened this thread about 2 dozen times to gawk at them.

I also like the stock design and I would imagine those rifles mount, swing and balance like a dream. I am going to save each of the pics. to use as guides for when I have my 375 H&H and 416 Rigby rifles built.
Anyone have a link to the Heym website? I have looked around but, can't seem to find it.
Regards,
Dave

Andre,
What's the barrel length on that .500 Jeffery?

P.S.
Some prices for Heym's in the US (all three have very plain wood - nothing as good as the pics above).
$5,500 for a .416 Rigby at Cabelas
$5,600 for a .416 Rigby at Champlins
$5,250 for a .416 Rigby at GunsAmerica

Ken ClineAppears to be some glitches in the website. Couldn't pull up the info on the big bore bolt actions.

Heym has an escalating price stucture based on caliber and I would not be surprised if the 500 jeff was a couple thousand more than the 416 rig. The 600 NE retails fro $13K new from NECG right now.

My wood is standard grade but I know the distributor and asked him to pick the wood. I wanted a piece with straight grain.
Extra features on my rifle:
Rose wood on pistol grip

Gold monogram on grip cap

Jewelled bolt all the way no bluening on stainless parts.

Cheers,
Andr
you should post paper towels to wipe up the drool along with pics like that! That is one beautiful rifle! All three are superb, but I'm more partial to the Rigby. Soooo nice. maxman

Just returned from the range and the magazine will take a full 5 rounds
This makes the Heym a 6-shot weapon, and that makes me feel good

DavidCSpie,
I was hoping you'd remember. Thanks for the update.
5+1 is a real confidence builder! If you are going to carry rounds on safari they may as well be in the magazine.

I am a bit surprised though as the rifle looks trim and does not appear to sport a drop box magazine.

Dave
