I've got an Interarms Mark X in .375 H&H that does not like to feed overly long OAL rounds cleanly. This mainly means that Monos are out.

Since Speer quit their very excellent African Grand Slam solids, their are few solid choices left. I personally don't like Hornady's solid, so this leaves the Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer and the Woodleigh.

Between those two, which one do you guys like best.

Well, since no one wanted to discuss this one, I am using my own best judgement and have ordered a box of 300-grain sledgehammers. I like the somewhat flat meplat, which means straight penetration, that is if the bullet does not rivet or otherwise deform.

I know I've read about some problems with this bullet in the past, but it seems to be well thought of by PHs and gun writers (who are always right, right? Wink)

I don't believe there are any invincible solids. I have seen both W and TBS' bend. Either one will be fine. Shot placement is the probable dominant factor and not a choice between the two you are considering.

GA Hunter:

I too like that flat nose on the TB Sledgehammer...but my PH's (416 Rem) rivited pretty good when he put one in my buff....my NF Cups did just fine...but those were from a 470. I'm playing with the NF solids in my Ruger 375...so far, so good.
Of course, as Will said, no bullet is invincible.
