Captain Colonial125 grain loads for a Mannlicher 8x57
Any of you experienced experimenters got a pet load that shoots the little 125 grain bullet out of a classic full stock mannlicher?
All help greatfully received. I've tried the Vihtavouri powders up to maximum (54.3grns)but can't get it to print inside a dinnerplate at 50m, hardly good enough I think.

AtkinsonYour bullets are too short to stabilize in that twist...I have had good luck by using the GS custom 130 gr. in the 8x57 or it may have been a 120 gr. in a 7x57, but either way as the monolithics are longer per weight, the stabilize much better int the 1x9" or 9.5" inch twists....
I now shoot the 160 gr. GS HV Custom in my 8x57 and it sure shoots fine and out penitrates the 185, 200, 220 and 250 gr. soft points by a great deal.
