Overkill - Is there any end in sight for your incessant questioning? You already possess the all time record for bogus questions. Why continue? Are you deriving some obscure pleasure in all this?

Overkill - I have a proposition for you. I will get off your case IF you will go out and purchase a copy of A-Squares Any Shot You Want. Read it from cover to cover a minimum of three times. 99.9999% of your continual performance questions can be answered in this book. A few semi-educated questions are fine, however, your barrage of goofy questions are too much. Find someone in your village to help you learn the basics. There are other more suitable forums specifically tailored for your type. I implore you to seek them out. Or get Socrates' E-Mail address. He knows everything about big bores, .375s, and 240gr Sierra bullets with huge BCs.

OK,

I got 1879 fps at very light pressure. I suspect that I could get 2100 fps if I could withstand the recoil.

ZD,

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I think that Overkill's questions are real. If you read some of the things that the less experienced or less educated of us occasionally say here, you can see that many of them betray the same beginner's lack of knowledge that Overkill seems to have. The main difference is that Overkill actually asks the questions. Too many, of course, and I agree with your recommendation that he just buy the A-Square manual.

But many of his questions are about really basic things like momentum and energy and "stopping power" that you will NEVER get everyone on this forum to agree on, so why is he screwed up for not knowing the answer, when clearly a lot of us don't either?

Overkill,

If I'm wrong, and you are pulling our pee-pees and laughing in your Cody lair, more power to you - you've done a good job!

Recono - I have two older (thank God) children. I can remember all to well the "why is the sky blue and why do zebras have stripes? kind of questions. Once they became a little older, a little more educated, a little more insightful, a little more self sufficient, the friggen questions stopped.

I doubt overkill is innocent. HOWEVER - IF, IF, IF he is truly interested in guns, ballistics, killing power, which is better, how to knock down moose, what make bigger hole, etc, etc, etc, I would implore him to grab a few books and LEARN SOMETHING first. Then, the incessant questions would be at least more insightful and thought provoking for assholes like me. I am only attempting to raise the level of conscience around here for my own personal pleasure.

In any event, point taken.

While I agree some of these questions of Overkill's are quite silly, given his apparent lack of ballistics knowledge, what I object to most is the incessant questioning that which he apparently doesn't understand- thereby bypassing the learning process.
Overkill, do yourself a favor and get some good books and learn some basics of guns, ballistics, reloading, etc... then maybe if you ask a question, the answer will make a lot more sense. Basically, until you do so, you are just wasting your time. Having answers to questions without knowing the process is a lazy and worthless way of trying to learn. You ARE trying to learn something aren't you?- Sheister
