Ive decided to scrap the idea about the 460 Weatherby Ruger No. 1 I believe all the replies convinced me otherwise. I will just leave the ruger alone. Anyway I was wondering if anyone new anything about the 729 Jongmans Is anyone making rifles chambered in this caliber? I know that the case is based on the 50 BMG cartridge.

To be great, is to be misunderstood.

Been looking at COTW 10th Ed. page 213?
Nice picture of the brute:

729 Jongmans: NECKED UP 50 BMG
.727 caliber bullet of 1048 grains monometal copper

330 grains of H50BMG powder

30.5" barrel
21 pound bare weight rifle

2265 FPS
11941 Ft-Lbs KE

Created in 1990 by Clive Downie of Ripplebrook, Victoria, Australia. John Jongmans did the final work in birthing the cartridge to his namesake rifle action, an Aussie 50BMG bolt action sportie.

Taylor KO of 250, versus the 600 NE KO of 150 in rounded numbers.

Chapter 13 of COTW 10th Ed.: "Wildcats Down Under"

There is a pic of Mr. Downie holding his stunt rifle and cartridge. Very phallic.

Also a pic of Geoff McDonald with his 505-530 Woodleigh rifle built on a P-14 action.

If you haven't read that, it is a start. BOOM

Similiar to-- 12GA Fh, which has a rim
and is straight, .729 cal.
Rob's 700 BMG Imp which has shoulder
like Jongmans case, and is .700 cal
My 700HE has a belt and is
straight, .700 cal.
All made from bmg brass.Love that brass,
so much can be done with it.
Jongmans didn't put the shit to his
loads like Rob did at about 50%
faster.Ed
