Ok, this may be a looking for trouble fishing trip, here. I am ashamed to say I have never owned a rifle chambered in God's own 375 H&H. I got crazy a few years ago and went 375RUM, not that it isn't a fine cartridge. After several African trips, and delvng more deeply into the old books, I need an H&H to complement the 416 Rigby and 470 Nitro to round out my African battery .
Without breaking the budget, I might add. I'm close to getting one of those new Winchester Safari Express in 375. Only around $1000, and good quality from everything I read. But there are these older FN High Power Safaris built on FN Supreme mauser actions that can be had for a few hundred more. As long as the salt problems are not there.
What would you guys buy to mess with, collect, even hunt with a bit? The Winchester is what it is, solid. The Browning has that something extra.
Any thoughts will be appreciated, and most even considered. Thanks for your thoughts.

That is disgusting Big Grin

In my opinion the M70 is "the 375". But I like the M70 action and its strong bedding configuration. A recoil lug twice as big as a Mauser and with more stock material behind the recoil lug, a much better placed front action screw, a tang that is made for bedding and in post 64 actions a receiver that is made for the 375 length. Post 64s are about .3" longer than Pre 64s.

Some will poo-poo this Sauer 202 375 H&H for not being CRF, but I like it. It also cost twice as much as that Winchester you're looking at. Lots of choices in the H&H caliber...something for every budget.

I have a 375 safari express, and an old browning FN in 458. I like the winchester but I like the browning better, better stock fit, not nearly as clubby, and is definitely built better. I'd trade my safari express for a another browning, just havent found a 375 (other than an Olympian grade), and havent had the time to look hard. If you find one with no problems grab it.
