jeffe and others - the 577 3" that diesel dude had built on a ruger #1 was built by dave caboth who was the gunsmith at chimo guns in wasilla, alaska - dave has left alaska and moved elsewhere (really, I don't know where) - dave built several guns for dd and does excellent work - I have shot the #1 with 650 grainers at 23xx fps and 750 grainers at 2300 fps at which time things start to get interesting - don't know what max load dd shot but I think maybe 750 grainers at close to 2400 fps IIRC - not sure why dd does not post here as he has moved back to alaska - his #1 is about 11.5 lbs and has a muzzle brake and one or two mercury reducers in the buttstock. If I still have photos of the rifle, I will post here. As mentioned, the 577 or 600 is "doable" on the #1 and will require extensive reinforcement to live - KMule | ||
