I couldn't resist and bought a Mossberg Patriot in 375 Ruger $327.00 out the door. Took it to the range this weekend about 50 shots and the feeding was very smooth and it grouped 1.5" at 50 yards. The gun weights 6.5lbs with a scope and mounts a touch under 8 pounds. I was impressed will see how it holds up but may become my bad weather bear rifle. Chris

I have heard a few reports from new owners and they were all three positive. Accuracy has been reported to be excellent. For the price it looks like a winner! Good luck with yours and please keep us posted. "The difference between adventure and disaster is preparation." Another manufacture to chamber the 375 Ruger is a good thing. Looks like a nice rifle.

Looks like a nice rifle. The stock looks like it has nice lines. Ya, keep.up posted! Which stock did u get? Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle."

CTF I got the synthetic stock it really has great lines and even thought it is very light it was actually comfortable to shoot. Chris

Yes, it does look like a winner. < $400 for a new 375Ruger. Wow. Double Wow. I might go laminate. Please let us know how it shoots. Maybe a person needs one of these in the States for load development for Africa-based rifles. I may have a new favorite rifle went to the range yesterday the gun is shooting MOA and feeds and ejects shells perfectly . I actually prefer it to my Ruger 416 Hawkeye the bolt is always hitting my hand. If they chamber this gun in 416 Ruger they will have a winner Chris

I may have some help for you on the hand-hitting bolt. Something similar happened to me when I built a 500AccRel on a Hawkeye. The bolt would whack my trigger finger. The problem was the Hogue stock with a little bit too much vertical hand position. Replacing the stock with a more traditional extended grip on a laminate appears to have solved the problem. I also got a dremel tool and cut back the Hogue stock, especially around the grip cap area, so that my hand has a more traditional lying grip. Cutting back on the grip-cap area exposes some plastic under the rubberized coating, but the result works. If you want esthetics, then order a Boyd's laminate stock. They now provide checkering, recoil pad, and length-of-pull custom options. +-+-+-+-+-+-+ "A well-rounded hunting battery might include: 500 AccRel Nyati, 416 Rigby or 416 Ruger, 375Ruger or 338WM, 308 or 270, 243, 223" -- Conserving creation, hunting the harvest.
