How good are the Interarms Mark X express rifles in 375 h&h and 458 win mag? "Science only goes so far then God takes over."

I bought mine in 1984 from Pachmayers in Los Angeles, very accurate and never given me any trouble, always think I would like to find a .458 and a &mm rem mag of the same models

I just purchased a 458 Win Mag Interarms Whitworth Express with a Brno CZ action. Somebody magnaported it but it fits me and points extremely well. I took it to the range last night and it is extremely accurate. 1/4 inch off of the bull at 50 yards and 1 inch from bull at 100 with Federal Safari Premium 500 grain TSX off hand. It is a very nice rifle not custom but for a factory sporter it is nice. Sincerely, Thomas Thomas Kennedy

Mine is a Whitworth .375 H&H....it's as reliable as one can ask....A fine rifle. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I can do that and you can delete this thread if you want "Science only goes so far then God takes over."

I own a few ranging from the original English proofed to the last few put together parts and pieces and they all with minor exceptions have shot well and held up to some serious abuse. If you can find a Mark x express, they are sometimes better than the Whitworth Rifles. I love taking 5 or 6 to the range and shooting all day without worrying about burning them up. Like shooting the same rifle (I do own a few other rifles) all day. If you have one for sale or are unsure--- I WILL TAKE IT. Frank

I purchased a Whitworth in .375 recently and I'm very pleased with it. Shoots straight, feeds everything I put in it and looks like someone who cared about what he was building put it together. I'd give it four and a half out of five. But do follow George's advice and search this forum, I did before buying mine.

Now that is the Frank Martinez we have come to know and love. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown

good catch fla; Crvena Zastava bought equipment from FN after WWII to make their mausers MK Xs are some of the best (although a little rough) commercial mausers available; although fine out of the box, many end up with the local gunsmith to be tuned & upgraded with things like 3-psn safeties Jim fur, feathers, & meat in the freezer "Pass it on to your kids"
