StokesBauska BBK-02 vs. BRNO ZKK-602
Hey Guys,
I'd like to know your opinions on the differences between these two actions. It looks like many parts are diminsionally the same, to the point that stocks might be interchangeable.
I'd love to hear someone of experience tell me of thier encounters with either or both of these actions.
Thanks!
I've got one of each:
BBK-02 in .470 Mbogo
ZKK 602 in .510 JAB/500A2
The stocks are not interchangeable regarding inletting around the tang and the trigger wells etc.
The hole spacing may be the same for the action screws, and depth and width of the stock around the magazine may be very similar, but I would have to do major work on a McMillan stock designed for the CZ/Brno to make it work on the BBK-02.

jeffeossoThe stocks aren't "interchangeable" but very darn close, and the tang on a bbk can be shaped to fit right in. I've got a bbk that Marc worked over, and it falls into a cz 550 american (unbedded) stock, due to his work on the tang.
However, in terms of quality,
(very early 602 with pop-up sight)
550 magnum
602
bbk

StokesYou like the 550 more than the non-peeped 602?
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks!

jeffeossobasically (though not always) the non-peeped 602s are like a post-64... removing the peep took out cost, and the production quality did go down.... so, yeah, i like the 550 magnum more than the non-peep 602...
then again, I also don't like the reversed/cocking safety, and the peep kind of makes up for that for me.
the 550 magnum wouldn't get have the #@#$@$ it gets, if it wasn't also a billboard...
let's see
dual square bridged
intregal bases
HUGE capacities
decent all around action
CRF
timney trigger available
for 800 bucks?
yea, I like it

StokesThanks for the insights.... and to bug you some more....
I've a 602 non-peep in 375H&H. It has already been converted by Gentry to a Win 3-Pos style safety and has the normal 602 trigger in it (not the set).
I also own a BBK-602 action, and while it doesn't look as nice as the BRNO/CZ, it already has a 3 Position style safety, and a more managable trigger system vs, the BRNO with half of it in the trigger guard. It does not have the bridges cut for rings, nor is it drilled. Quality on the BBK just seems a bit lower than the BRNO.
I also have a second ZKK-602 action laying around, and it is also a non-peep. Standard trigger as well, but it still has the factory goofy safety set up.
I'm thinking of building one of these actions in to a Lott. Having another BRNO to compliment my existing gun would be nice, but I sure like the trigger and safety set up on the BBK-02, as it's already done.
If you were in my shoes, which way would you go?

Frank BellerI have a .416 Rigby built on the Bauska BBK action (not D&T or grooved for scope rings). The action is slightly more sloppy than a BRNO, but it's a very nice rifle that's amazingly accurate with open sights.
