I'm looking at a Parker Hale Safari in .375 H&H on an auction site and wondering if the action is a true magnum, or a stretched standard length action. Does anyone have any information on this subject?

All the Parker Hale Safari rifles I have seen were built on Spanish made Santa Barbara actions. The magnums were extended/opened up actions. Nevertheless, they did a decent job building them and the rifles had to undergo British proof. If the price was right, and the condition was excellent, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one.

Agree with everything Grenadier has said. Being a Spanish made Mauser copy is no slur on these fine actions which were nicely finished and very reliable. Parker Hale also made them up into .404 Jeffery rifles too.

This 375 Parker Hale Safari has a M98 action. Possibly a Santa Babra;

Standard 98 pattern. Consider an Enfield or CZ

I've been looking for one of those. Hard to find one in decent condition.

If It were I, I would look for a Whitworth instead.
