I was on the A-Square web site and they list 2 750 grain bullets for caliber .620 The Dead Tough and the Lion load. What velocity is possible with a 750 grain Dead Tough bullet in caliber .600 OVERKILL...??? Robgunbuilder or some one???

Overkill- I won't tell you till you buy a barrel for your namesake cartridge! Just Kidding! I would guess 2600-2700 fps with H414. It hurts just thinking about it! By the way, I just got the chamber reamer and headspace guages today!-Rob

Robgunbuilder...!

It will be fun to hear about how the .600 OK recoil is with 900 grainers at 2400 FPS... SmilerI dont think that the 750 grainers have a good SD and if 2700 fps will me around MAX then the 900 grain load have more power.

Overkill,

Wouldn't a manly man insist on 1200 grain bullets for his .620 rifle?

I figure 1200 grains at 2150 fps will be about right for dangerous game.

500grains...!

Yeah that woulde be something... but a 1200 grain caliber .700 bullet at 2600-2700 FPS from a .700 BMG IMPROVED would be better [Big Grin]

A 1200 gr bullet would be close to 2 inches long. This would eat up alot of the case capacity. If 3.600 is OAL and the case is 3.000 long the bullet would seat 1.400 into the case. The 920 gr .620 dia bullet I turned is 1.502 long so it sits .900 into the case.

Would this long a bullet stabilize?

In a weak moment I may convince myself to make some and try them. It can't hurt worse than the kick I got from a colt yesterday.

Overkill- Last Chrono session I got the 900's to over 2700 fps in a 600 ,.50BMG improved. recoil was not really very bad! Of course the gun weighs 20 lbs.-rob

Just take a deep breath and calm yourself...ok, now go ahead and make [Smile] them BUT since it is so long, may I suggest a design for an exploding bullet?
