According to the stuff I have on hand, cartridge brass length is 2.80" +/- and overall cartridge length with a 500 gr. bullet is 3.60" +/-. Hope this helps.

Be forewarned that the cannelure on most bullets makes the COL want to be almost 3.7", not 3.6.

Thanks for posting that Don, something to be aware of, I have my 458win in the process of becoming a 458lott and will check with the smith to see what OAL he is setting it up for.

The freebore is usually enough, but the mag length is best if 3.7 instead of 3.6 or 3.65.

I like to crimp these rounds into the cannelure and a 3.65 forces you to trim the brass short to crimp into the cannelure and still fit 3.65, much less 3.6 COL.
