I was just looking at a ruger catalog and noticed that they said their 458 lott would also accept 458 win ammo. Is this true? Is there any complications of using 458 win ammo in a lott rifle?

MtElkHunter, Yes a Lott will accept 458 Win Mag ammo. 450 Watts, and 458 Ackley can also fire 458's I'm told. The is the rifle equivlent of firing 38 Specials in a 357 mag. or 44 Specials in a 44 mag. Same rules apply. Extended firing of 458's in a Lott chamber could lead to fouling that will prevent a Lott round from chambering. Keeping the chamber clean and firing only a minimum of 458's (20 or less) at a sitting will cause no problems that I know of. Bob
