The styling of that stock is a bit disturbing to my eyes, with the hogback and the squared-off cheekpiece.

Is that a screw through the side of the grip or a reinforcing bolt?

Charlie,
Even I could get used to a piece of wood like that. Don't burn it. Send it to me if you have no use for it. It would be fun to shape it into the classic English pattern, but I have no problems whatsoever with the Lux stock. They work great for me. They are a good compromise for irons and scope, and they handle recoil just fine for me. It is nice to be different now and then, and shoulder a hogback. They no longer shock me to look at or touch. I have no religious proscriptions against them.

John thats a great looking piece of wood. I like the shnable forend. You could straighten the comb and round the cheekpiece. I just bought a 550 American in 416 Rigby with rather plain wood. It is back at CZ as it doesn't feed the last round correctly. The bolt rides up over the case when the round starts up the feed ramp. Probably needs a stronger magazine spring

That came with my CZ in 416 Rigby a few years ago.

I like it except for one thing.

It is made of wood.

So, should I whittle on it this winter to see if there is a more pleasing looking stock inside of this one? Or,

Should I use it in the wood stove?

Do both. Whittle the Sweinsruecken off, straighten the schnable and use the wood chips as fire starter!

......and then let me know your good 416 Rigby loads so I can try them in mine......DJ

George,
Customer service at CZ is good to deal with. The girl who runs CZ USA looks pretty good in the pictures I've seen. But, you can't see her ass in those pictures. IF she has a Czech ass, then whoo baby.. If it is a Polish or German ass, then, well, never mind....
