I while ago, I got my CZ550 magnum back from Jim Brockman. Jim was polite, professional, and a gentleman through this project and his work was excellent. Here's a description of the results:
Sent Jim a factory CZ550 in .458 WM with instructions:
1. Rechamber to 460 G&A.
2. Install PME 3-position safety on bolt shroud.
3. Modify magazine slightly so that it can still hold 5 cartridges "down" - while it could hold 5, .458's, I could not get 5 of the 404 Jeff-based rounds in it.
4. Perfect the feeding with dummy rounds that I sent.
5. Restock with the laminated stock shown on his website, but paint it with the black non-slip epoxy finish used on his lever action series. Specified 14.675" (14 5/8) length of pull.
6. Install front sling swivel in front of barrel channel - not on forend of stock and not with a barrel band. I like barrel bands, but the rifle shot spot-on to the factory fixed sights and I didn't want to move the front, barrel band mounted sight.
7. Work trigger pull for crispness.
Results:
1. Rechamber work excellent.
2. 3-pos safety installed - perfect.
3. Magazine now holds 5 rounds "down."
4. Feeds like warm grease - super smooth. Feels like some of the English magazine rifles I've handled.
5. Restocked exactly to my order. The black finish is well applied with the cheek area of the comb sanded smooth. Actually, it looks like a fiberglass stock - but it's a laminate. Someday, maybe it will wear a real wood stock...
6. Front sling swivel installed per my order. The rifle, now 460 G&A shoots center but 6" high at 50 yards in 1.25" groups (kneeling position). A simple few strokes of a file will fix this once a load is settled on. I've shot 85 gr. RL 15, MAST (BELL) brass, Fed 215M primer and 500 gr. Woodleigh solids so far. Haven't put the chrono on it yet.
7. Trigger is crisp and of appropriate weight for a DGR.
Another note. The recoil of this rifle is much more tame than when it was a .458 WM. The only real changes have been the chamber and the stock. The chamber (460 G&A) should generate more recoil perceived - the new stock makes it that much more manageable. I would emphatically recomment this laminate stock from Brockman as a great, cost effective alternative for the CZ550 magnums chambered for cartrdges that can really smoke you if nested in an improper stock - and that factory stock will do just that.
Sorry for the long post - thought you guys might like to hear about a rifle that turned out great and a gunsmith that delivers. If Brockman hasn't sold them, he still has my 460 G&A reamer and gages.
I'm sorry, but your post is a SEVERE violation of forum rules. It is STRICTLY prohibited to post about a really nice new custom rifle and not post pictures. Please remedy this situation at once
Best, Joe

It is essentially the 404 Jeffrey necked up to 45 caliber, but I think there are also some changes to the body taper, shoulder and neck. It'll do an honest 500 gr @ 2400 fps.
