For a minute there I though someone had found a Schwerer Gustav or Paris gun!

I take issue with their "biggest rife ever built" claim.

If I had the cash, I would put it in my stable where it belongs. There are 4 or 5 of these around, not 3. If anybody s interestedd in an ahr 700, 600 overkill, 416 rigby, or a bijou creek 500 jeffery or 600 overkill, I would sell a couple at really god prices so I could get this gun. I also have a 577 double I could sell. Leave me a pm soon. thanks Ken

Gun be better with our and Ken Owen's
4bore in it, a longer 1" bore instead of shorter .950".
And the 4 bore holds 650 gr powder instead
of 375gr in 950. And so much easier to make straight
4bore case. And the velocity claims
with 3600gr bullet can't be done with only
that much powder at rifle pressures.Ed

I support Hubel on this.

D/R Hunter

Correct bullet placement, combined with the required depth of bullet penetration, results in an anchored animal...

I agree, I believe the velocity claims are a bit optomistic.

It would take BLUE PILL load to get what they claim. Now it would get about 2750 gr bullet
to 2200 fps. Oh what I could rig up in that
action if it was here,Ed

After getting with J.D. Jones and talking with him on the 950 rifle, I got a differnt story on the ammunition. He said the cast bullets he used were 2500 graind, not 3600 grains, and velocity is in the 2200 ft/sec range. Still a powerful load, but not38600 ft.lbs like a regular 20mm round.

I had thought that most of the 950's were upwards of 100lbs. At 66lbs what kind of recoil is expected with full power loads.

The one in the video that the guys from Knight Armament are test firing weighs 50 lbs. So this one should kick a little less than the 50 lb one.

Can't see any purpose to that. Can't hunt with it. Not good for target shooting.
