Anyone have any interesting stories on the 600 ? if you own one ,did own one ? or used one on big game .Or something you read about ? like Pondoro shooting an elephant with both barrels by accident with blew him off his feet, and the elephant .or loads ,projectiles to use etc ,but please no moans about them being ''look at me tools ''.

I think you would do better on the Double rifle forum as all(almost) .600NE's are Double rifles....I did have a 1920's .600 Charles Osbourne English Double and it was by far the hardest kicking rifle I have ever shot...yes,it was only 12 1/2 pds,but the stock design was apparently "way wrong" as it bloodied my nose,gave me a headache and opened the action with each shot due to my hand hitting the opener(lever)!! Yes,I sold it fast(and made a very nice profit I might add!)..and Yes,I Use/Hunt with ALL my rifles..No Safe Queens here!

I have a Heym .600NE bolt action. It is the single worst kicking gun I've ever fired. Using the same load as the .600OK (900gr bullet 165 gr of IMR7828 at 2100fps) the Heym will nearly break your colar bone. The same load in the .600Ok is a pussycat. The poor design of the Heym is the reason why.-Rob
