I finally got a chance to shoot the Bridger Bullets 500gr. monometal solids in my M-70 .470 Capstick.

They're long bullets.

Loaded to about the same COAL as the Barnes Original 500gr. FMJRN.

This was the best of the three groups shot at 50yds. It measures .749" wide by .672" high, outside to outside (bullet diameter is .474").

Hi Jim,

Sorry about that! I've updated my original post to reflect that this was in my M-70 .470 Capstick.

Feeding at 3.61" COAL is fine if done quickly or 'normally'. On one round (fed from the magazine), I worked the bolt VERRRRY slowly, and that round did seem to catch momentarily just before the bolt closed, but it only happened the one time, and I was unable to make any other rounds catch in the same manner.

HI,

Were they hard to reload, did the groves give you any trouble seating them into the brass. Kev

Hi Kev,

No problems whatsoever. The ridges are at bore diameter, so they seat pretty normally.

George, quit bragging. Hope you got a digital camera to take alone with you so that you can post a lot of pics.

Do you have any Barnes Super Solids to compare them to? They look even longer than them. I should have mine next week. I hope they are no longer than the Barnes. With barnes in my lott they take up quite a bit of case space.
