I had been looking around the internet at guns and such, and found Beretta doubles on their international website. How do those weapons compare to a Chapuis or other brand that is not 25 grand? From what limited pricing I could find, the 455 in 470 NE was going for $2400.

Check that price again; you may dropped some zeros.

A Beretta 455 for under $30K is a good deal. And they are a lot nicer than Chapuis.

gixxer,

The Beretta SxS double rifles are made for them by Famars. You might get them cheaper from Famars but the price for a new one would easily be above $ 50,000. I have seen one and it was a really beautiful gun.

When checking the Famars website, I don't see a sidelock double offered by them in the same case-hardend finish that they offer when they make the Beretta 455. Do you think this finish is only offered in their Beretta version?

Spring,

Though the basic rifle is built by Famars Beretta have their own specs for finish and style. If you send the serial number of your rifle to Famars they could give you the details of it's manufacture etc in case you want them. It is a beautiful rifle and I hope that you have been able to go hunting with it.

Best wishes,
