I have settled on the 270 gr Swift A-Frames. They work nicely on the big stuff but don't open violently on deer. They shoot extremely accurately in my rifle. I Have used a lot of different bullets for deer in the 375. I used the Hornaday 210 FP, the Barnes xlc 235, Hornaday 270 sp. For all around general use the SAF seems to do the best. It is an expensive bullet if you are using it for plinking. I only use 8-10 rounds on game a year. I spend 5 times that just on gas to get to hunting camp for a weekend. Good hunting. D

Just finished my second (yep, we got too many cows) elk hunt in Colorado this year. Just had to use my .375 H&H that I'd built up. Used some 210gr Barnes X bullets that had been given to me. My results: two shots, two elk...one at about 90yds and the other at a laser measured 302yds Also helped two other hunters finish off their quickly-departing wounded elk. All four shots had complete penetration. Ooooh, though, the messt in the chest. All animals dropped within a few yards.

I shoot the 270 grn. X and have been tremendously pleased with its performance. It works well on small and large animals with little meat damage to whitetails.

RWS2, To answer your post, I suspect the Speer 285 gr. Grandslam would work on Buff, but it will never be my choice...
My favorite Buffalo bullet in a 375 will always be a solid and the Bridger Flat Nose Solids or those by GS Custom are the best...If I have to use a soft in the 375 on Buffalo then it will be the 350 gr. Woodleighs or the 285 gr. Northforks...
I am convienced that the smaller the caliber the more need for a solid in buffalo...

The 235 Barnes will work fine. My favorite is the Swift A-Frame. The 270 shoots well but the best shot I have made on game was with the 300 gr SAF. See what your gun likes, and feed it. Good hunting. "D"

I've been hunting with the old H&H for years and have always preferred the 300s.
I gotta say though, I am very impressed with the Nosler 260 Partition. Been using it a lot the last few years and it performs admirably on NA game and has demonstrated surprising accuracy in my rifle.
