Loaded these for elk. 75 grains H380 starting load. WW Brass, Win mag primers, col about 3.58. Sub moa groups @ 100, perfect primers, out of a M70 classic. Never shot the rest, the first two groups were too good. Should be around 2700. This is the top load for the regular X bullet in Barnes manual. Work up You might be able to go hotter, but I like those little groups. BTW, this rifle is in a Richards Microfit laminated classic stock free floated and glass bedded, Williams stainless bottom metal, Swaro 1.5x6 scope. A bit heavy to carry, but a pleasure to shoot. Limbsaver pad. Holds 3 down and 1 up, feeding perfect. A great elk rig if you don't mind the weight. This is the first time I've shot this rifle since bypass surgery in February. I spent my recovery time putting it all back together. Thanks guys for all the encouragement. | ||
