Well, I have installed the 2nd lug on the barrel (Win model 70 style lug, but screwed and glassed instead of soldered). I have the recess for the lug in the stock, and also cut a channel just behind it, 1/4" wide and just a little deeper. I'm going to drop a 1/4" stainless threaded rod, with a nut at each end (also inletted in) into this slot, and glass it all in. This should spread the recoil out a little further. I'm hoping it will be ready to shoot in another week. Does this sound like overkill, or will it suffice? Todd

Todd, Mike's first 416 t stock, with full power loads, was a hogged out colt light rifle stock, that was being sold on ebay for $17.. i bought a couple... I used steelbed to mount it, and 2 days later, we where at the range... I light off the first one, as I did it for him, and needed to test my work... imho, the taylor doesn't need it, but more power to ya, as it just doesnt have enough recoil I think your idea is a solid one, though jeffe
