Tom, Ray, 450 are all right. I use my .416 Rem to hunt hogs with in the US and am planning a cape buff hunt possibly as early as next year. Better to practice on a live moving target than paper....IMHO.

I agree with Ray and NE 450 #2. Great practice for Africa. I'll be usind a 500 nitro this year and have used 416 Rigby for ground hogs in the past [anyone can shoot them with a scoped 243] ,venture out.

I've taken deer with the .470 NE Searcy. I used a cast bullet load ... 500 grain GC FP pushed with XMR5744 at 1500 fps for 2500 lb-ft of energy. Very accurate load, easy on cases, and cheap to shoot.
Works pretty much like a warm 45/70 load ... the Hammer of Thor!
