There is a Weatherby Mark V Alaskan for sale locally with a Burris 1-4x on it for $1300. I have been semi looking for a used 375 to serve as a do all back up rifle. My primary for my next 2 planned trips is a double 450/400. I like the no frills nature of the Alaskan and I imagine I can replace the muzzle brake with a thread protector cap. Other than the fact that its not a mauser action, and I have several, is there any reason to turn down what looks like a good deal?

You could offer a bit less and might get it. Or as you know hold out for what you really want. All firearms and especially good ones have gone crazy high!
