Steve,
after seeing the 585 nyati in the field, I can tell you that it's the STUFF for a 585 caliber.... as Rob posted, that 750 gr woodliegh retain 738+ gr, after a ~50-60 running shot on eland... it was AWESOME....

any faster, though, say 200+ fps, and I would guess that the bullet would come apart...

and, since the 585 can be built on a cz550 action, you aren't talking a huge deal of money...

you are left handed, right? call montana rifleman and get on the list for a LH PH action, though their long action probably would work

the 750 woodleigh can easly hande impact velositys of 2400 fps no problem

Not true, unfortunately. The Woodleighs 750 solids were designed for only 2050 fps, and have failed in the field at 2200 fps.

I I were you, I would go for the 577 Tyrannosaur caliber. It shoots 750 grs bullets to 2600 f/s and 800 grs FN solids from GS Custom should pass the 2500 f/s mark..
THAT is power.
Excellent brass is available from Horneber.

700Nitro- Please first do a search on the 585 Nyati and spend some real time thinking real hard about what your getting into. The 585 NYATI has major design problems and every one I have ever seen will not feed reliably. THERE are some basic reasons why. Given the problems with the NYATI why oh why in thw world would you consider an even more obscure wildcat for which brass does not exist. If you don't believe me just ask Butch Searcy. The .600 OK was designed purposly to eliminate these problems and it does just that.It can be loaded down or up too. Talk to ED Plumer at AHR and send him $10K( he can give me half) and he will be happy to send you a RELIABLE .600OK. I know you won't listen, but I just had so say my 2 cents worth. Good Luck-Rob
