Hi Guys I'm new to the forum,and find it very interesting with loads of information. I have a .375 H&H on a Mauser Model 3000 action.I know it probably not the best DGR but it is a light and nice rifle to hunt with.It's got a very smooth action and its very accurate. What I would like to know; Are they popular.Any problems with the action. Are the many of them around. What year were they produced.(how old would the rifle be, anyhow to check) And do anybody else have one in a .375 H&H I bought the rifle some years ago from someone that used it once and bought a CZ to replace it.He found the recoil from this light rifle to much.He bought it form a German that said he ordered it from the Mauser Custom Shop. Any help or info would be appreciate. Regards,

Welcome to the forum. I don't have first hand knowledge with your rifle but I did a little Google foo and found out it's a Heym and they also sold it under their own name as the "SR 20". It was sold under the Mauser name between 1971 - 1974. The .375 H&H would be the M3000M Magnum model. "Rifles of the World - Google Book Try page 340. Hope this helps.

Ruger Boy, I do not own a Mauser 3000, but if you have one I envy you. They were beautiful rifles when they were made, but I never saw one in 375 H&H. Yes, it might be a little light, but you can always change that! There do not seem to be too many of them floating around. Don't worry about it being "the best DGR", that discussion really will get you in trouble! They were always regarded as a quality rifle. Enjoy it! Post pictures when you get the chance! Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong;

makeminestainless, You are mostly correct. The Mauser 2000, 3000, & 4000 series were all manufactured by F.W. Heym under contract with Mauser. When that contract ended, Heym continued manufacturing a modified version under their own name. The SR 20 series was the end result. Tom

Hi Guys Thanks for the info so far. Peter, the recoil is not a big problem for me or if you are use to shooting big bores.But could be for someone that is not use to it. Like a said before it is a fine rile to hunt with and if it is standing next to a .270 or a 30-06 you would not say its a 375H&H. I bought it 7 yeas ago, for a good price and was never sure about the history of the rifle.I had a idea that there might not be many of them around. If there is any more info, it would be nice to hear. Sure there must be more of these rifles floating around. Regards,
