They work on the principle of inertia. Mercury being a 'heavy' substance, adds mass to the rifle. When the reaction from firing a round occurs, the mercury 'absorbs' some of the force via its tendency to stay at rest. George  | |||

rick, The lead in your bullets is toxic, too. The mercury is well-sealed. My .470 Capstick has two DeadMule recoil reducers, which are mechanical (not mercury). George | |||
