I am sure this has been hashed out here in extensive detail before but I am bored at work and would love some feedback. My 458 AR project should be finished shortly and I am thinking through options for optics. I have narrowed it down to 4 different scopes based on a number of factors. They are as follows:

Leupold VX3 1.5-5x20
Leupold VX2 1-4x20
Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5x38
Leupold European 30mm 1.25-4x20

All of them have between 3.8 and 4.5" of eye relief. Some of my concerns are recoil tolerance, narrow ring spacing (hence the bigger Zeiss), and optical quality. Weight is not a factor. Any thoughts?

I would really consider the Leupold Ultra Lite 2.5 power. It really is the ticket on big bores!

The Leupold Europeans are like the VX IIs but with a 30mm tube. Only the exterior lens surfaces are multi-coated.

I have not seen or used the Zeiss.

I'd go with the Leupold VX III 1.5x-5x, for now.

I've always been a Swift fan... Never had any experience with them and Big Bore recoil though. If they're alright, you could save a couple hundred bucks with the same quality optics. Anybody know? I don't dig the guys at E Arthur Brown Co, but their prices are ok, & they're about the only Swift dealer I know of. www-eabco-com
