Is a single-shot Winchester/Browning 1885 High Wall a controlled-feed or push-feed ?

Norman ConquestHammer,I may be just showing my ignorance here but to the best of my knowledge that term is primarily designated for the turn bolt design. R/e=Controlled feed with external extractor,i.e. M-98,Ruger M 77,etc.Push feed=Rem. 700,etc.I have believed this for years but if someone knows differently,I'd be interested to know.

Paolo9,5x73Sure, you use your fingers to feed it, you know, fingernails are the claw. I would focus on positive extraction here!

500grainsA full auto is force fed.
Fair crack of the whip Hammer, Pull the other one.
Hammer it depends. if you use just your thumb it is a push feed if you use your thumb and fore finger it is a control feed. If you wish to detrermine if the rifle is ok for a DGR drink six beers and hang upside down from a swing set to determine if feed is positive.
I am sorry I just could not help myself.

I was going to send this thread to the single-shot forum, but J D's post was too funny to let it go.
