| Holy crap batman. I picked up CZ custom 505 from cabelas years back now for next to nothing. I knew that was going to be a good investment. Good to see they are worth something! quote: Originally posted by LHeym500: In Lexington today for work and stopped at Cabela’s. They have a CZ Custom Shop 505 Gibbs. Very customized. I took a few bad cell phone picks. Often they do not list their guns on the website.
Price just over 9k. It is not mine. I refuse to sell any of my guns. Nor do I know where it came from.

| Well, it is Cabela's. I bet the rifle is on consignment. So, you now how it goes with pricing. It is a beautiful piece. But in the down turn especially I think 9k is a bit much as well.
But what do I know. I do not doubt when built it was expensive. |

| $9K for a CZ? That's 3 times the MSRP from their Custom Shop, and nobody pays MSRP. For that money you could find a used custom from one of the top gunmakers. |

| It is a little more eleaborte thann the standard 505 Gibbs that came out of Kansas City. But I agree with you.
A better way to go is AHR face lift. They have a beautiful CZ 458 Lott for literarily half the price with Leoupld 30mm illuminated scope. And just sold a 450 for 5k.
I just report. |

Yep. The CZ 550 Safaris (Custom Shop or not) can definitely benefit from the minimal TLC that Wayne @ AHR can provide. Especially on basic things like smoothing up the action, feed reliability, and the fitment of the barreled-action to the stock. "Outta da box," the big-bore CZ 550s are a rough breed. Always thought those old BRNO 602s were smoother, although I was never a fan of their Euro 'hog-back' stocks.
All The Best ...

| Yep I'm sending mine to Wayne at some point. Needs a bigger front sight for sure but I will say the wood is nice for sure came with mercury recoil reducer and they say the stock is warrantied for life from cracking. Mine has an interesting story as it went back twice to get "updated" under warranty after I found a loose cross bolt and could not find anything to tighten it. Sent it in and they completely redid the rifle-twice. Pretty nice now a few Wayne touches and it's ready to go. It was a first gen 505 they had a couple issues including the sights, bedding, Some other stuff. So at least they back their stuff up
