yes the rumors say so.And it uses the full potential of the case. And yes, since JDJ jones get 2300+with his .700 JDJ on a shortened 50 BMG i think the .700 Juggernaut will be able to push the 1200 grainer to 2500+ or something, if that round even exist, and not just someones who's fantasizing about it ! I'm sure this rifle is possible as anything else, like the .959 JDJ which 'unfortunately' don't exist anymore.(there are some owners in the states).Oh yes and the weight of the rifle. You have to be on some serious steroids carrying something like this on elk hunting..700 JDJ one barreled weighs 35 pounds for the purpose of this gun, which was not hunting. Well if someone dense enough to go hunting with this sort of thing Jones would probably get the weight down on 20-25 pound. Even tough shooting either .700 JDJ, or the .700 Juggernaut, is like having a bull coming at you, to put it that way.By the way the .959 JDJ weighs 100 pounds, and ballistics is 2300 fps with a 3600 grain bullet !!!!! I have nothing more to tell, please....!!

The 700 jdj and the 959 jdj is not hunting rifles. I think that the biggest hunting rifle would be a 585 Nyati or 600 Nitro Express. Or even a 460 wby mag.

Yes i agree.I hope you didn't misunderstand. I was joking a bit about the subject, but the ballstics on them shouldn't be far from the truth.By the way, you'd be better of with a .375 RUM than a .460 or .585 on hunting, unless you use it as a back-up !Better to hit with a .375 than missing with a .460 ! Proper shot placement is the first thing you should learn before choosing a gun capable of launching 750 grainers to 2592 fps !!I bet you already know !?

Per577,

Yes the shot placement is the most import thing. I can shoot 3 shoots at 100 yards into a target big like a fist. How do you shoot with your 416 wby? and have you used it on game? how was the effect?

And saeed didnt get 2400 f/s with the 600 NE just 2295 f/s. I dont think it is possible to get much more out of the old 600 Nitro express...! What do you think?

The .700 on the IMPROVED .50 BMG case certainly does exist. In fact Dennis OLSON has recently built one with a Mcmillan Repeater action in a stock designed with the magazine hidden ala express rifle belly. Totally cool!Total weight about 16 lbs. Figure 1200 gr bullets at 2500-2600 fps. A number of people here have fired them and properly braked say they are quite controlable. I have seen one built on a single shot EDM action but have not fired it yet. There are also a few 600's built on shortened .50 BMG cases and a proprietary 600 on a full length improved .50BMG case. This should push a 900 gr bullet to 2600-2700fps easily. There are some amazingly effective muzzel brakes available for these cannons that make them tolerable to us mere mortals.-rob

Rob,

Do you know how many cartridges the magazine take in the Mcmillan.

And do you know how much it cost? can you load the ammo to it by your self? if you buy 50 BMG cases and open them to .700

Why to open up .50BMG when there are good cartridges ready, I mean little 20x102 or bigger russian 20x109, but for deadly moose I would like to pick minimum 23x151, maybe 30x210 M53 with muzzle energy 260 000J is too big. I belive this one in 23x151 with about 70000J muzzle could be fine for sitting game

2900gr bullet at
3180fps or 1590gr bullet at 4000fps

Hey Jiri. Talking of those monsters, i have to mention the Gepard M3 14,5mmx114 round in a semi automatic sniperrifle.Thats the rifle of my dreams !This round existed in the world war two as you know, and the russians was very primitive not attaching a muzzle brake to the rifle, when firing against tanks. So those who complains about the recoil of the big wbys should think about how that must have felt.At least when they were practising with the damn thing !

...I dont think the russians complained much when practising, their worries started when their bullets bounced off the steel plates off german tanks, with no apparent effect..

Hey, thanks for those nice pictures Jiri

That was one hell of a rifle. Mybe this NSW, ( if i'm correct)would be the new dream rifle !!I could even change to 20mm if it was any "need" of it. Well, we could dream on getting on of these things, as they are military cofidential stuffs !
My ambitions to put it that way, would be something like the .585 Nyati,.577 tyr,.505 gibbs with modern cases(Of course), or as you mentioned once in a time, necking up the .408 chey tac to accept 50 cal bullets,,yeah !
I get confused choosing. There are too many alternatives, if you read my thoughts right.Lazzeroni rifle are sure good, but too expensive for a dude like me.My wishes there would be the 12.04 Bibamufu, .8,59 Titan.
By the way, it's cool if you have more of that stuff coming up on the screen.
