Hello, I am in the planning process to try and get a true "big Bore" shoot going at a local range in Phoenix, AZ. I am a match director there and have access to a nice shooting range. We have a very active club and an occasional "safari" type shoot but I am looking to make it "bigger" literally and figuratively. I would like suggestions and links to types of stages, props, targets, scenarios, How to incorporate "power factor", movers, scoring etc. into this type of match. Any help or ideas appreciated. I have time and imagination to build elaborate props and the place to store them ie life sized elephant etc. We have a charging buff and looking to do the big 5-7 and stuff like SA PH shooting test and other timed and scored skills. Looking to make this a good test and practice for real world DG hunting with "Big Bores". We know we like them, we know we want to shoot them and need a good excuse to shoot them. Thanks! DWJ (dangerous water jugs) make for great targets for big bore shooting. Note: make sure that the jug stands are sturdy enough to withstand the jugs (exploding). As for caliber, 375 H&H and up. If you have a "stopping"rifle cat.,458 Lott and up. Keith Have fun!
