Hi BigDude,
The triple X magnum pad by Pachmayer will cut the felt recoil of a big bore rifle by at least a third or more over the standard decelerator pad. I know I've mentioned this pad over and over again to people concerned about recoil and I would be interested in feed back from others that have tried this recoil pad. I have friends that have put them on their 375's and figure that they could shoot them off their forheads it softened them up so much. On big bores that drive 500 grain bullets at 2300 to 2400 it makes the gun a lot more shootable and recovery for a second shot quicker. The triple X pad should make the need for a muzzle brake unneccessary for cartridges in this range. 470 Mbogo

Mbogo.
Is the triple X magnum as easy as the Decelerator to make fit every gun?

Hi 460wby,
The triple X pad is available in small, medium and large sizes. If you take the length and width of your stock dimensions the Brownells catalog gives the dimensions that will work for your stock. I don't think that they are pre-sized to fit Rugers or Remingtons or any others. You would probably want a gunsmith to instal the pad if you don't have the means neccesary. 470 Mbogo

Are these the ones that are ventilated with a white line spacer?

I use the triple X pad for years on different .458 Lott/Watts (500 gr at 2400 f/s) and .500 Jeff. Since then I have only a light grin for the discussions of recoil of big bores in our forums. I handle it like a 30-06 without any problems, even shooting off a bench.

Hi ChadT,
Yes the pads are the ones with a black spacer then a white spacer and they are a ventilated pad as such. You can't see through the pad because there is a web down the center of the pad that distributes the recoil better. The top and bottom of the pad are solid padding. They come with a pin that fits in the scew hole that will touch the actual screw in order to stand the gun upright on in a gun cabinet. Try one you'll like it. 470 Mbogo

470 Mbogo,
Is this the pad identified as F990 White Line Field "triple magnum" in Brownell's catalog?

Yes that's the one. If you would like to see what they look like installed take a look at my website @ www.470mbogo.com and go to the picture of three custom Mbogo's. All three have the triple X pads installed on them. 470 Mbogo

I have several triple magnum pads that I don't need ( I'll have to go to the shop to count the exact number ) I would sell for 5.00 apiece plus shipping if you bought them all.

Please e mail me if interested.

Hi Rodger,
Craftsman has one small and five large. I'm interested in the small for my 416 Taylor and figured on posting the others at the same price mentioned for other members. What size are you interested in? 470 Mbogo
