An improved clone of pre 64 Winchester 70. Anybody heard anything positive or negative about it? I am looking at using it on 458 Lott. Thanx Lochi Hunters pay for conservation. Without funds from hunting the African game cannot survive. www.affordableafricanhunting.com

Do a search. Many people here own them and most speak favorably of them except they are heavy. I have one in a left handed 458 lott and so far so good once they installed the correct ejector! My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I own a Montana Long action that made a wonderful 404 Jeffery! Action is smooth and strong! I like it! Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. Do not be uneasy about me, for I am with my friends." ----- David Crockett in his last letter (to his children), January 9th, 1836 "I will never forsake Texas and her cause. I am her son." ----- Jose Antonio Navarro, from Mexican Prison in 1841 "for I have sworn upon the altar of god eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." Thomas Jefferson Declaration of Arbroath April 6, 1320-“. . .It is not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.”

your biggest challenge is going to be actually obtaining one! they're having some production difficulties and keep extending the release dates. (I've been trying to purchase a LH magnum action for a little over a year). Last time I called was early Nov and the current projected backorder date is spring 07. May your luck be better than mine! -UtahLefty

There was an article on the Montana in our local Magnum magazine and it certainly seems they took the best of the past into this action. The design seems thus OK, but my concern is it is a new company and production problem may direct that dud Monday blemish my way. Sabi Rifle is the distributor in RSA. Lochi Go to their website and you can see the custom 458 Lott that I had built on their action. 458 last rifle on the page I got my barreled action in about 6 weeks, and it came together very nicely. Yes, they are "new" compared to some, but my experience with them is they actions are reliable and well made. The two gunsmiths who have recently made me 4 rifles on their acitons say that the acitons, when received from the factory, require further finish work, but clean up nicely. I am sure Sabi will do a good job for you. Pity...Ii just sold my 458--it was sweet...and inexpensive, just to many big bores. PM me if you want more info. ______________________________ "Are you gonna pull them pistols,...or whistle Dixie??" Josie Wales 1866

I ordered mine (LH SS 458 Lott barreled action)in Jan of this year and I believe it arrived the first part of April. I think I was lucky because I ordered it before Winchester announced the demise of the Model 70. After that the company became swamped with orders. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I have a SS short action that I made into a long range 6.5x284. I think that they're perfect for the mid sized cartridges. If you look on their website in the "trophy" section (animals) you'll see me with my coyote that I took at 732 yards. Mine shoots! Yep! That's a very nice rifle indeed! So any plans on blooding it? A nice trip down memory lane for the venerable cart and some thick, juicy M'bogo steaks, perhaps?
