Has anybody heard of (good or bad) or dealt with Hallowell & Co.? http://hallowellco.com/ They have something that caught my eye and want to do some homework to see if they are safe to deal with.

Thanks,

Hizzie

I have dealt with Morris Hallowell several times in the past. I have bought and sold with him. He has always treated me very professionally. He is quite knoweledgable. He makes his cut of course, but is a very fair individual. I would deal with him again in a heartbeat.

Morris is a very distinguished gentleman, and a knowledgeable and fair seller and trader. I wouldn't use slang, poor grammar, or mild profanity in talking with him, or you'll get nowhere! I have a friend who is a bit "raw" and tried to buy something from him, and Morris won't even answer emails or messages from him!!!

I bought my first double, a K gun from him. I would deal with him again.

Morris gets some unique items and is very helpful. Though is known for his snobbish while likable personality throughout the trade, quite a character. He doesn't come off his prices much at all. Trustworthy and competent he is, but not a favorite to make a deal with if your bargain hunting.

Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure he was on the up and up. The item I'm looking at is already priced just right so no need to haggle on this one. Hopefully I'll be able to pull the trigger. I have to wait for my actual driver's license (Texas and that stupid paper temporary license-useless) to come in the mail before I can buy anymore toys.

Amen. It is a very useful tool. I have probably used that glossary a dozen or more times.

I bought a very nice drilling from him some time ago, and it was as good as he described it, if not better. I endorse the sentiments above.

When I later asked him if he could help identify a rifle I had bought from Cabela's, which they had mis-identified, he did make some rather snide remarks, which were no doubt well deserved.

I live 20 mi. from his house-shop in Livingston MT and have bought a couple guns from him through the years. He has some amazing things in his gun room and it is a pleasure to look through it by appointment only. He is a quiet, knowledgeable, and fair man, who takes the best pictures of guns on the web. I enjoy looking at his website to see his guns regularly. If the gun has been there a while, he may deal alittle. Daryl.
