Working out some loads today, and was wondering if any one could give me a ball park figure, on feet per second.
39.0 grains 5744, 10 grains fluff, 550 hard cast lead.

Also have been playing with the pyrodex this weekend,tried the pellets, loaded 2 50 grain and about a 5grain fluff ball under the 535 Potsteil bullet, pretty hefty

Dave, my best gues is 1300 to 1400 fps with that load.

By the way, with xmp5744 you do not need filler. I have used as low as 30 grains xmp5744 in a 500 NE with no hangfires. Omititing filler is one of the great luxuries of 5744.
