Mike, I was shooting through two seperate trees. Perhaps I did not make that clear enough in the first post. Since these were standing trees, measuring approximately 50" in diameter (+/- 2 inches), I was also shooting through about 4 inches or so of bark. That said I guess the actual thickness of red oak would have been anywhere from 44" to 48". Actually, one tree was over 30" thick and I was shocked that the heart was not rotted out of it. I strongly suspect that green timber is MUCH easier to penetrate than dry lumber. Consider this, drive a 16 penny nail into an oak tree (that is EASY) now try to drive a 16 penny nail into a dry seasoned 2X6 of red oak (good luck!). Bullets penetrate wood just like nails, I suspect. Axes cut green hard wood easier than seasonsed too. At least it seems that way to me. Jeffeosso and Rob, If I arrange to get a digital camera from work this weekend and take some pictures of one of my DGRs and one of my Stopping Rifles. Which of you want to post them for me? Also, what kind of proof do you need of caliber? Since I have a muzzle brake on both of my Stopping rigs I can slip a loaded cartridge into the muzzle and take a close-up showing the case head stamp with the bullet slipped in to the muzzle of the rifle. I do not own digital calipers, mine are old fashioned "analog" Starrets so I doubt I can get a good picture with the calipers showing the diameter as Rob did. I think any of my DGRs will speak for themselves with regard to caliber. I will let you be the judges there.

Ron Berry, What is the matter? I am serious about the pics. Although, I must admit, I am crazy about posting pictures of my DGRs on the internet. Is there a special message you would like me to include so that you know these are the "real deal" pics? I will consider anything that ISN'T obscene or destructive of my property.

Boy, when the lying starts it gets stupider every minute. Truth is he was shooting at a FOREST of trees with his 9mm pistol and he's not real sure he hit any of them. If he shoots as poorly as he lies, I can assure you he hit none of the trees. Secondly - His imaginary rifle, the 500 AHA exists only in his mind. (All Hot Air) However, ANY real firearm in Todd E's had would be very dangerous to any an all around him. Don't go to the range with THIS FOOL! NEXT - The reason green, living trees are so easy to shoot thru Todd is because they are full of sap. Everyone knows how easy water is to shoot thru. Finally, TEGGY, everyone knows you don't own any big bore rifle other than your trust old single bbl 12 ga. So please don't waste your time searching the internet for another picture to plagerize. We would like to see a picture of YOU, however. Just hold a sign below your face that says "World's Biggest Liar." We'll know who it is. Now, GFYS. Try to think up another load of shit.

500AHR/ToddE- I for one would like to see your digital pictures. To prove the caliber use the tried and true method of placing a steel ruler ( machinists type-the $2 variety will do) under the muzzel. This will be close enough to distinguish a .416 from a .510. Most digital cameras will focus close enough for that purpose. A regular ruler will work in a pinch. Take a second picture of the whole gun and the cartridge next to it. As Jeffe said, a dated article- next to the gun should prove that it simply wasn't copied from a website. As for your story about AXEL, I'm inclined to believe you. The real question in my mind is why you felt that this was "cool to do". Everybody figured out in about 2 minutes that AXEL was either you or your "STOOGE" which didn't matter to us at all. Both AXEL and You wound up being so denigrated that you had to switch your identity again. In case yopu missed it, you only succeded in disgracing yourself. No one on this board was impressed with your intelligence or craftiness. Quite the contrary. Sorry, but this was not a "value added"exercize. It's also clear to me that you somehow desparately want us to like and respect you. However, all you've done is to succeed in making all of us believe your just an incredible liar. Now,You have cleared the air and appear to be trying to clean up your act. I for one will treat you in a fair manner and reply decently to your posts. As long as things remain in that vein, I for one will not continue to pursue and attack you. As I said I will let Bygones be Bygones in order to not aggravate the situation.-Rob [ 11-27-2002, 21:19: Message edited by: Robgunbuilder ]
