Don't let them pimp you. It turned out nice. That is the kind of rifle a man could use for everything. I feel that way about my 416 Taylor. ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. John has thinned out the pistol grip, adjusted the cheek piece, polished the action, filed in the cross bolt inlets, bedded the action, shortened the fore end, added a barrel band stud, and added Ebony grip and fore end caps. He has yet to adjust the checkering. It looks great compared to a CZ straight from the box and is now ready to take on Safari unlike most rifles straight from the box.

Hey Oz, who did the work for him? Cost?? I have the same rifle and find it really is going to need the same work done on it. Though I will be getting a peep set up from New England Custom. Cheers Stu

Stu, John did most of the work himself with a little help form a Gun Smith mate. In that way costs were kept to a minimum.

If the CZ 416 I looked at a couple years ago looked like that out of the box I may not have bought the Ruger. Very nice gun, I hope she's a shooter. WOODY Everyone is allowed an opinion, even if its wrong.

SWEET! Nice job! I am working on the same thing with my CZ. It sat for several years, recently I have run out of things I can do in limited space - but ironing out my Rigby is something I can do. I have set out much like your friend - put on an ebony tip already, turned the American style swept cheekpiece in to a pancake, thinned the grip, got rid of the flutes on the comb, double crossbolted. Next I am sending the bolt out for a job similar to his, replacing the front sight with an NECG after cutting down 1.5", and putting the sling hook on the barrel. It won't look as nice as your friend's though, because his wood is much nicer. Congrats! TG

Nice! John There are those that do, those that dream, and those that only read about it and then post their "expertise" on AR!

Just wonder about the height of the scope to miss the 'invasion' of the iron sights? My neck must be very short as I'd have to have my face off the stock to shoot that nice rifle. Add a few hundred bucks for some custom checkering, wrap around the pistol grip and some fancy forarm chechering and it'll be
