All, I have read where the std 98 must be dealt with to get a 375 length cart to be accepted. True? Second, if using an aftermarket bm unit like a Wiebe is the situation avoided? Action in question is an Interarms.

A standard 98 needs a little opening up to be long enough for a .375 length cartridge. It would be far easier to do a .375 Taylor or .375 Ruger with just opening up the bolt face and maybe a little feeding tweaking. A shot not taken is always a miss

jsl, First question; True. Second question; Duane Wiebe's bottom metal or another's will be necessary for accepting the 375 ctg. Which ever bottom metal you choose will not lengthen the Interarms or any other action at all. Metal must be removed and, as earlier stated, feeding and bolt face will beg your attention. Look at Duane's "feeding post" in the Gunsmithing forum. Much good stuff there. Luck, Stephen
