oldunFun and blood
I acquired a Sako 375 H&H a couple of days ago, it has a leupy 1-4x set in a pair if Sako mounts. It weighs 8.75 lbs as is. It came with some reloads; 5 with cast bullets and 8 loaded with Sierra 250 grain spbt bullets.
After feeding the cows this morning I thought it was about time I gave the new girl a test run.
I'd adjusted the scope position therefore a target was set up at 30 yards
I lay down prone.
The first shot, with a cast was a pop and shot a little low, next I tried a 250 Sierra. That was more of a whumph followed by a nice crack on the eyebrow. Oh, that was a bit of a sting as I dabbed my forehead to find blood on the finger. The bullet had gone slightly right and high. The reticle was adjusted and another sting on the nut but the bullet was cutting the target patch. Final adjustment has things just as it should be roughly in the middle of the patch.
It was fun being shoved back a bit by the old lady, not at all uncomfortable on the shoulder and the blood soon cleaned off the forehead.
I'll do some final adjustments down on the deerstlakers 100yard range, sitting down.
No animal is safe now.

jeffeossoOldun,
please put a longer pad on her, as the next hit will be on a bruised eyebrow, and it will induce a flinch... it tool MONTHS of work to get rid of the one my first 416 gave me

Jeffe You are right the 375, as I said, was a bit of a shove. I shoot my 9.3x64 which is a pound lighter than the 375 frome the prone position too. In comparison to the 577 I used to shoot both are pussy cats

What is flinch?
