For the 375, is there a bullet weight that is best for use on cape buffalo?

I’ve only used 300 gr.

What is everyone’s thoughts of 350 gr. for Buffalo ONLY? Not as a general overall weight for all game. The 300 gr. is the best for both DG & PG combined hunting IMHO.

350gr works very well. Seemed like a step up from a 300gr but from observing a small sample size.

I do think a superior design outweighs the weight difference in many cases.

Premium bullets no matter what the weight. I've used 300's that were too soft (my PH said they would be good lion bullets) and 350 gr Woodleigh PP and solids. If I get back it will be with 300gr Barnes.

300 works great, especially if you are going after some plains game. The 350 would be worth trying if you where on a dedicated Buff hunt, I had a CZ that shot 350 Tsx very well, but not worth messing with 2 different weight bullets while on safari

300 is the most recommended..I prefer the Woodleigh 350 gr..Not many have used the 350 but those that have are sold on it..

I had Dakota load up some 375 H&H, 350 gr. NF boxes of ammo a couple of years ago. I like the North Fork bullet design, and read that most folks thought they are pretty accurate. These are certainly premium bullets. I have been shooting them in my Dakota Safari 375 H&H the past few weeks and they are indeed accurate, in my rifle at least.

This year I am hunting Lion, Buffalo and Hippo with Andrew on Royal Kafue. I am taking Federal Premium 300 gr. SAF for the Lion and Hippo, also very accurate in my rifle. But I am throwing in a box of these 350 gr. NFs for Buffalo in case my 404 Jeffery goes south for any reason, and need to hunt Buff with the 375. I have tested them at 50 & 100 yds. They are dead on bullseye at 50 yds. and 1.5” high at 100 yds. I can work with that!

I am hunting the Buffalo mainly with my 404 Jeffery and using 430 gr. NFs, another round that appeals to me for Buffalo.

Sectional densities:
375, 350 gr.= .356
404, 430 gr.= .343

These are both better in SD anyway, than a 500 gr. 458 cal. bullet. I was looking for a premium designed bullet in a high SD. I found them, and now I will see how they perform on Buffalo.
