I went to an auction and ended up with 10 cartridges. I think they are 8 gauge, but not sure. Here are the dimensions, hopefully someone can tell me what they are. The owner manufactured unusual and oddball calibers, there are turned brass cases with a ferrous head but of course no headstamp. They are all lead round nose bullets. Overall loaded length: 3.778" Cartridge length: 3.250" Rim diameter: 1.25" Case Diameter:.920" at rim tapering to .895" at mouth Please pardon me for not posting pictures, I'll try to get some up asap. Thanks for your help. ET Good luck and good shooting. Sounds like large 8-bore cases, actually 7-bore in diameter. No sir, not even close. As I stated above they are turned brass, and the rim is a white metal. Someone said it may be silver solder, and the maker turned the solder down to spec on a lathe. There was a mountain of brass, etc. shavings under a lathe. He had a huge box of 44 Henry Flat cases from South America, unprimed it said. Would've loved to ask him how he primed them. I also ended up with a box of 11mm pinfire ammo, made from 45 LC I think. Good luck and good shooting.
