OK, I've been gathering parts for a 416 Taylor and have recently been thrown for a loop. A friend recently gave me a large number of old bullets that he had swaged by barnes from 416 down to 410. I have 400 250gr,100 300gr, and100 400gr bullets, all .032 jackets. So, who makes a 411 barrel and will it hurt to shoot 410's in it. Sound OK for a 411 KDF- 411 Magnum to me. Action will be a 98-09 Argentine. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

I think you ought to swage those .411's back up to 416 and shoot them in your Taylor.

Those bullets will come and go, and you'll be holding the gun.
What will you want to do then?
Swage more? Just save them for your .411-348 Imp lever wildcat. [Wink]

slingshot ammo.
Do not be swayed to the dark side (410). Make your taylor and be happy.

Flog the .410 bullets off to someone with a .400 NE single-shot, and use the cash to finish your .416 Taylor project.

411 ???

and what happens the 3rd month after you have it built? that's only 600 bullets, and you will get to shoot it more than that...

in fact, 600 bullets, saying that you get the blem bullets from lockstock, is "only" 150 bucks... about the price of getting the custom dies for the beast

in short, make it a taylor .416, and enjoy

1. Put the .411's for sale on the internet to generate cash for your custom rifle.

2. Build a normal caliber (like 416 rigby or 416 remington) that will serve you better than a weird wildcat.

Thanks guys. I guess I already knew the answer but just needed a good kick in the rear to make me see the light. Thanks again.
