Beautiful, but I must hunt with my guns.

CBNHNTRMaybe it's me but for over 6K, I would like the cheek piece of the Lott to be on the left hand side of the stock.

J BennettSomething does not seem right about this sale.
One, if it was built for Boddington why does he not have it instead of the builder?
Two, this gun has been for sale for some time know. It has been as high as 45,000.00 and as low as 21,000.00.
It is a beautiful gun and Todd has come a long way in his execution of takedown rifles.

mr rigbyyes thats true, and if it was boddingtons rifle, why hasnt he written a word about it? he`s been using a Dakota in 375. the lott was fine but since iam not a southpaw, its not for me.

dirklawyerThe 458 Lott is my gun. Shoots very well and the design of the gun (and right weight), makes it honestly feel like you are shooting a 416 Rigby. The only reason I am selling it is because I fell in love with a 450N.E. double, and I can't hunt and shoot them both at the same time.

The gun was built for Boddington. The only write up I saw was in Safari Club Mag.
It was unfinished at that time and he was test firing it.

dirklawyerI don't fully know what you are asking about the stock, it's a laminate, and weights approx. three lbs.

PWN375The 458 Lott is a left hand action...so the cheek piece is on the right side of the stock where dirklawyer places the side of his face when he fires the rifle using his left hand. Why would a person want the cheek piece on the left side of a left hand action firearm?

Michael RobinsonIf I owned that rifle, I would learn to shoot left-handed. Very nice!

jstltrsa left handed stock on a left handed rifle? imagine that

specifically, the drop looks in sort of odd proportion so that you would have to scrunch your neck to get a bead.

38supershooterWhen did Mr. Boddington become a General? Thought he was a Colonel?
'Nothing wrong with shooting, as long as the right people get shot.'
General Boddington became a general when he was reactivated for Iraq.
A neat article describing preparation for the Iraq invasion can be found at:

CBNHNTRI guess my attempt at humor failed. I was joking about the stock. The wrong side was a wry comment by a right handed shooter.

That is factually inaccurate.
Craig never actually became a general. He was 'selected' for promotion to the rank of general by the USMC, but he never actually 'became' a general because his proposed promotion was not confirmed by the United States Senate. So he remained a Colonel at the time of his retirement in 2005.

Boddington was promoted to Colonel USMCR in October 1996 and was selected for promotion to Brigadier General USMCR in April 2001. Boddington's final post as a Marine was Vice Commander, Marine Forces Pacific. He retired in September 2005.
