I have both Leupold 2 piece sets (for the Mod 70) and like the std front and reversible rear the most but am still unsettled about having to turn the rear with windage screws forward to obscure some of the magazine well. What have others done? Is there a mount system that doesn't encraoch on the magazine opening? Need to be able to use 30mm rings for a Z6 1.7 to 10

I used Talley extended base and the front base only went about 1/8" into the loading port (the rear not at all), part 258X702 (8/40 screws). 30mm rings fit. I used a Leu VX III 1.75X6. A Leu VX III 2.5X8 MIGHT have fit, but just barely. If you have more mounting space, you might not need the offset as it is only 1/4" extended. http://www.talleyrings.com/scope.php Mine is a .375 Weatherby, almost the same as yours. .............................................

I'd go with the brockmans pop up peep bases. I have them on two rifles and really like them.

Bear Nice. Is that a long action and what scope did you use? .............................................

That is a 458 Lott. I mounted a 1.5-5 VxIII Illuminated leupold with german #4 dot reticle. It is an excellent setup. I have the same setup on a lightwieght 375 H&H too. Its the best DG setup I have ever found.

PM retreever and ask about the super quick detachable system by www.talbot.us - he's very happy with it. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}
