Hey gents I'm back on the forum again. Fell very ill but overcame it, than started working at a joke of gun store and recently quit. Southern California's got it's share of characters around here. Ever heard of a self-named master gunsmith who does work that is comparable to a 10 year old who got ahold of daddy's files?! Yep...impressive. But I'm back with a vengeance and have recently started focusing 100% effort towards my babies, most notably old gun projects that I've had laying around, as well as my '71 Camaro. Back to the original idea. I recently bought a hex-receiver Mosin Nagant (M91) that I'm currently engraving and getting ready to send off to color-case harden the receiver. I'm adding a butterknife bolt and doing a quick-detach side mount scope. Now after researching a few things, I ultimately decided on the .405 Winchester chambering for this particular piece. I'm ordering a hexagon barrel for it as well. Actually...I may have posted this already. Crap. However, this project is on now! I'll post pictures soon. Sounds like an interesting project. I've never seen a custom rifle with a Mosin Nagant action nor a rifle with a six sided barrel. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics. | |||
