Guys,

I need a case for the Searcy that just arrived.

I have a Kalispel for two scoped long guns and I could use that for travel. Has held up remarkably well on the airlines. I like them.

Searcy wants $300 for a canvas and leather case, $800 for a leather one. I have a line on a guy that makes beautiful oak and leather cases for $385.

Kalispel makes their case for breakdown guns. Single in about $160, and a case for two breakdowns is slightly more. I well might travel to Houston with a double shotgun and the double rifle.

Is a Kalispel appropriate for storage other than transport?

Any thoughts on the case issue?

thanks,

Take a look at Bear Track Cases (http://www.beartrackcases.com). Very strong but heavy. Their takedown shotgun case fits double rifles nicely, weighs 20 pounds, costs $336.

I would also check the Cabela's website because they have a selection for comparison...

I paid $69.00 from Cabelas. It's roomy. It's tough. It weighs next to nothing.
